As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, one of the primary changes that the Government has implemented is Working From Home (WFH). Unfortunately, most of us do not have an ergonomic workstation at home and instead are finding ourselves slumped on the sofa or hunched over our makeshift ‘desk’. Here are four tips to help set yourself up at home:
- Find a suitable chair and sit your hips and bottom as far back as possible. Lean comfortably into the chair or use cushions/pillows to support the upper and lower back, as required.
- Centre the screen directly in front of you. Try to place the screen 2-3 inches above eye level (if able).
- Position the keyboard directly in front of you. Ensure your shoulders remain relaxed. Tilt your keyboard at your preferred angle, or use wrist rests to help maintain a neutral position.
- Take short breaks to stand and move around every half an hour (as able).
