Dr. Jane Aitken, General Practitioner

Dr Aitken is a UK trained doctor, having worked within the NHS for over three decades.

She worked in UK general Practice from 1999, until relocating to Dubai in 2023.

Dr Aitken is an enthusiastic doctor caring for patients within a community setting, as a diagnostician and recognising the importance of referral to secondary care when needed.

Dr Aitken has a breadth of experience across general practice.

In her recent NHS position alongside her daily GP clinics, she was responsible for patients presenting acutely at the medical triage unit and supported junior doctors on rotation.

Dr Aitken has gained her DRCOG and DSFRH diplomas. She has developed a special interest in women’s health and supporting women through their perimenopause and menopause.  She has worked in family planning and contraceptive services and has experience in sexual health and genitourinary medicine; including STI’s, urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

Dr Aitken was a medical student clinical educator and worked for 12 years as the medical officer for the local RNLI lifeboat crew.

She has worked for the Macmillan Cancer support charity as a GP facilitator.

Dr Aitken values the opportunities that community medicine brings and is passionate about preventative healthcare and providing screening services, including for cervical cancer, prostate and bowel screening, to improve health outcomes, for male and female patients.

She is looking forward to working within the community at The Dubai Physio and Family Medicine Clinic in the UAE.
