Peter Hughes – Physiotherapist

Peter is a Physiotherapist specializing in sports medicine with over 6 years’ experience working in high-performance sport in Northern Ireland. He completed a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy at the Ulster University Jordanstown, Belfast in 2012 and has since worked with both professional and high-level amateur athletes and teams.
Peter has extensive training and applied knowledge of treating a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal issues, working both privately in a sports medicine specialist capacity and within the National Health Service as a clinical specialist in musculoskeletal outpatients.

Peter has completed a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2015 and is a qualified performance specialist with EXOS and ALTIS and has completed a Diploma in Football Medicine assuming consultancy roles with numerous sports teams.

Additionally, Peter is a certified speed and agility coach and is currently undertaking his accreditation to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach with the UKSCA. In this period he has developed excellent assessment and diagnostic skills to compliment his ability to progress and regress rehabilitation, based on specific protocol criteria and movement-based competencies. He is a certified Dry Needling Practitioner and has completed further training in exercise and performance rehabilitation and lumbar and pelvic assessment completing Masters Modules in both. He has a particular interest in lower limb injuries, Chronic and acute low back pain, load management and biomechanics in the recreational athlete.
