The Clinic specialises in sports medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, post-operative and injury rehabilitation, back and neck injuries, manipulation and manual therapy techniques, muscle balancing and hands on Physiotherapy treatment. Many of our Physiotherapists have been involved in high levels of sporting events and specialise in sports related injuries. They have years of experience supporting sporting events within Dubai and overseas, such as Rugby 7’s, Australian Rules Football, Tennis and Football 7’s, to name a few. Many members of the Team are also sports enthusiasts and participate in sports such as rugby, marathons, golf, triathlons, cycling, dragon boating, diving, sailing, yoga and skiing, providing them with a deep understanding of sporting injuries and the path to recovery.

Manual Therapy, Rehabilitation and Assessment

 

Manual Therapy includes joint mobilisation, manipulation, massage therapy, stretching techniques, manual traction, trigger point release, followed by individualised exercise programmes.

Clinical assessment and evaluation of the musculoskeletal condition is a major part of the Physiotherapy session to determine the appropriate treatment plan.

Other Modalities

 

Dubai Physiotherapy and Family Medicine Clinic now offer Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) as an adjunct to the traditional Physiotherapy treatments. Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a machine that is used to treat musculoskeletal conditions using high intensity sound waves.
It has been demonstrated as a safe and effective technique used for a variety of conditions, including:
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Chronic Shoulder Pain (especially calcified tendinopathies)
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome
  • Achilles Tendinopathy
  • Muscle Spasm (Trigger Points)
  • Muscle Strains

The FDA first approved Shockwave in 2000, since then millions of patients have benefited worldwide. There are no known side effects.

Here at Dubai Physiotherapy and Family Medicine Clinic we do not charge any additional fees for the Shockwave treatment, it is included as part of your Physiotherapy session.
